A brand new bookmaker with a Northern Irish background, Toals are working hard to get noticed and have achieved much in a short space of time. There are many aspects that a new bookie must address if they are going to make their mark in this crowded industry but these can be condensed into two key areas – value and choice.
So, just how have Toals been addressing those factors in their brief existence to date?
The website here has quite a plain design but the colours and text do tend to stand out so it is easy to read. Navigation can be a little tricky if you’re one of those punters who likes to have their sports listed on the left hand side of the page however. Everything is on the top bar but once you get used to the layout, it’s all very easy to locate.
All other options are listed at the bottom of the home page, where you would expect them to be, so overall, this is a good start for this new operator.
The new customer offer at Toals works a little differently to most but if you are prepared to persevere with it, you could earn up to £250.00 at the end of your first year. Essentially this is a £10.00 free bet in your first week followed by £5.00 free bets each week for a year as long as you comply with the qualification rules.
The initial qualifying bet is £5.00 at odds of at least Even Money and then you will receive your £10.00 free bet token. After that, you will need to place 10 x £5.00 bets at the same qualifying odds every 7 days in order to get your free £5.00 token. So, there is a lot to work through but if you are a regular punter then this is definitely a generous deal but please do check all terms and conditions.
There is a choice of ongoing offers too including acca insurances on football and GAA together with Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK and Irish horse racing so while these may be subject to change, this is a very positive section for Toals.
Markets and Odds
The list of available markets at Toals is fairly brief but it does include all the popular events plus a few niches and it’s good to see horse racing and greyhound racing covered at a time when many operators aren’t listing them. Here is that list in full.
You can also play on a decent set of eSports events while specials from the world of politics and entertainment are included so it’s a good list overall and there should be something for everyone.
We don’t expect Toals to appear on the odds comparison sites for some time but early signs are positive with strong prices in those niche events and also for football in particular.
Toals publish a link at the bottom of the home page which takes you through to full details of their license. While some bookies publish this in full without the need for an extra link, it’s still very easy to access if you want to check up on them.
In their early days, any bookmaker needs to be open and transparent about licensing as this can build up some trust so this is another positive step.
If there is an obvious area for improvement, it’s under the banking section where, as of June 2017, Toals are only showing debit and credit cards as the sole form of funding. The majority of us have access to these and so we should be able to sign up but it would aid our flexibility, while potentially improving the company’s customer base if they were to offer some eWallet providers.
Toals’ Twitter account had just over 3,000 followers as of June 2017 and although that could be better, the bookie is certainly working hard to get their message across on social media. Several updates are made during the day in regard to offers, price updates and general chat so their efforts here certainly can’t be faulted.
That hard work is carried over to Facebook where there are a similar number of posts during the day. Here, however, the numbers are a little better with over 5,000 likes. Both are active accounts with plenty of engagement and, with social media being an important tool for any new bookie, this is another plus point for Toals.
Lots of boxes can be ticked here; the new customer offer, while a little complicated, can prove to be a really generous one, while the list of ongoing promos is healthy so this is a good start for any new bookmaker. That positive start is backed up by a good set of betting markets with strong prices so, all that Toals need to do is get their message across.
They do that, partly via their active social media accounts and overall, they offer a good package making them a worthy addition to even the busiest portfolio of bookmakers.
- Welcome bonus can reach up to an impressive value of £250.00 in the first year although it requires a number of qualifying bets in order to pick up a £5.00 free bet token each week.
- Ongoing promos have been made available to existing customers including acca boosts for football and GAA.
- Active social media accounts with regular updates and good engagement on both twitter and Facebook.
- There are few downsides with Toals although many customers would like to see the list of funding options made a little wider.
