prix de larc de triompheThe Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is Europe’s leading horse race and the world’s richest turf race as well. Held at the amazing Longchamp Racecourse near Paris, the race was created almost a century ago in 1920. Since then, it has grown in popularity each year, with thousands of fans visiting the track every first Sunday of October.

Available for thoroughbreds older than 3 years, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is a prestigious event which is more than just a race. As one promotional poster from 2003 read, the Arc isn’t just a race – it’s a monument. It is the third richest horse race in the world overall (€5,000,000), ranking just behind the Pegasus and Dubai World Cups.

The race is held at the beginning of October each year at the Longchamp Racecourse. In 2016 and 2017, the race was held at Chantilly due to renovations at the Hippodrome de Longchamp. This year marks the return to the wonderful redesigned track, which is more beautiful than ever.

The race has a total distance of 2,400 meters (1 ½ mile) and is classified as the highest Group 1 flat horse race. Over the years, several legendary jockeys and horses have won the Arc, with Frankie Dettori dominating the competition in the last decade. Dettori’s horse Enable surprisingly won the 2017 Chantilly race. The racehorse wasn’t a major favourite before the race, so any punter that placed a wager on him surely had his pockets full of money by the end of the Arc.

This year, Enable is once again the bookie favourite, sitting on top of the favourites list far in front of other great racehorses such as Sea of Class and Enable’s stablemate Cracksman. There’s no doubt that Dettori would like to win the Arc once again, but it remains to be seen if he and Enable can bring the trophy home two years in a row.

MansionBet

mansionbetMansionBet is literally the new kid on the block when it comes to online bookies, arriving on the scene just this year. Still, with the major Mansion Group behind it, it certainly doesn’t feel like a newcomer. Offering a load of sports and markets and pretty competitive odds, MansionBet has started things off on the right foot, and there’s no doubt in our mind that it’ll only grow in the future.

Being an English bookie, it’s only natural for MansionBet to include horse racing in its offer. The coverage is pretty good – you can find odds for all the upcoming horse races at MansionBet including the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Enable is leading the list with odds of 11/10 right in front of Sea of Class with 5/1 and Cracksman with 7/1.

Waldgeist is the 4th favourite at MansionBet with odds of 8/1 and is followed by Kew Gardens and Crystal Ocean with 12/1 and 16/1 respectively. Rostropovich, The Pentagon, and Salouen are at the very bottom of the list, all available at 66/1.

Letou

letouAfter successfully running its operation in Kenya and Africa for a long time, Letou expanded to the UK, immediately establishing a great fan base thanks to sponsorship deals with Premier League clubs. It is now perceived as one of the best bookies in the business, offering great odds and a variety of sports events and markets.

Letou allows punters to place bets on the most popular horse races in the UK and all around the world. It goes without saying that the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is featured in Letou’s sportsbook. The odds are not surprising at all – Enable is the frontrunner with 11/10, while Sea of Class is waiting his chance from the shadows with odds of 5/1. Cracksman has odds of 7/1 on the third spot, Waldgeist comes fourth with 8/1, while Kew Gardens is one spot below him with odds of 12/1.

Further down on the list, Crystal Ocean is available at 16/1, Forever Together comes at 18/1, while Kitesurf has unfavourable odds of 22/1. At the back end of the list, Rostropovich and Salouen are once more major underdogs, sharing odds of 66/1.

SportNation

sportnationSportNation is an impressive newcomer in the betting market, offering a whole lot of American sports as well as European leagues and markets. With competitive odds and a variety of sports events to pick from, SportNation is doing pretty well for itself and we’re sure it isn’t going to stop there.

Horse racing is one of the biggest sports featured on SportNation. Pick the sport from the list on the left and you’ll be treated to a variety of current and future races including the Arc. When it comes to the odds, Enable is the main favourite again, available at 11/10. Sea of Class and Cracksman are next on the list of favourites, trailing Enable with odds of 5/1 and 7/1 respectively. Waldgeist is close to them with odds of 8/1 and is followed by Kew Gardens with 12/1.

At 11/10, we think that Enable’s odds are great – they could be better, but they’re not bad at all for such a heavy favourite. The chances of Dettori’s horse winning the Arc again are huge, and at 11/10, it’s best not to overlook Enable as the main favourite.

Ole777

ole777Arriving on the online betting market in 2017, it didn’t take Ole777 a long time to establish a great customer base. With a wide range of sports and an easy to navigate website, Ole777 has become the favourite for thousands of punters across the UK. If you’re in the market for a new bookie, we strongly suggest checking out Ole777 and its promo section as well.

For the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Ole777 gives Enable the best odds of winning. Last year’s champion is available at 11/10, with only Sea of Class and Cracksman being somewhat close to it (5/1 and 7/1). Waldgeist is still on the 4th spot with odds of 8/1, while Kew Gardens is already too far away from Enable available at 12/1. Down below the list, the odds are not in favour of horses such as Capri, sitting in the middle of the list with odds of 40/1.

At 11/10, Enable is almost a sure bet. However, considering the fact that this very horse won last year’s race as an underdog, maybe it’s best to place a wager on some of the other horses – Sea of Class’ and Cracksman’s odds look especially great.

Black Type

black typeBlack Type Sportsbook is one of the online bookies who like to take a no-nonsense, old-school approach to betting. And it’s been working pretty well so far. Black Type offers so-called ‘proper odds’ and has industry-leading margins for all sports. The name Black Type refers to top horse races, so you can bet this bookie’s horse racing offer is far above standard.

Black Type’s odds for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe are only slightly different than the other bookies. No surprise at the top spot – Enable is still leading the list of favourites, this time with odds of 6/5. Sea of Class and Cracksman are available at 6/1 and 7/1 respectively, while Waldgeist stands at 8/1. From there on, the odds take a dip. Kew Gardens is available at 12/1, Crystal Ocean is being given odds of 14/1, while Kitesurf and Study of Man have 16/1 and 20/1 respectively.

Even at 6/5, Enable is obviously the horse to beat in this year’s Arc. If you’re smart, you’ll place a bet on Enable and a few other horses from the list – this will maximize your chances of winning big sums of money.
